TENNEY

North Park is a renowned arts district in San Diego and the famous (and extremely popular) Lafayette Hotel has become synonymous with the area and it is located directly across the street from Tenney. A.P.T. again wanted to create a space that connected with the neighborhood; it's community; and its culture but also its quirkiness. We changed all the rules and developed a design where the ceilings became the canvases. The entire lobby ceiling is covered in an A.P.T. designed mural that highlights (literally.. we incorporated LED neon lights) landmarks and other significant features only found in the neighborhood. The clubroom ceiling has over 60 framed and color-coordinated prints installed on it and the compact pool area has an A.P.T. designed and built oversized daybed that is curved to beautifully follow the contours of the pool. The model home continues the art theme but throws in a musical element too.
