TRESTLE
MONROVIA, CA | NEW CONSTRUCTION | 296 UNITS
Located next to the train station in an up-and-coming suburb east of Los Angeles, this 5-story wrap project embraces a contemporary farm-to-table aesthetic—inspired by Monrovia as the birthplace of Trader Joe's. At the center of the amenity suite is a kitchen featuring a massive trestle table, accessible from both the game room and formal lounge via sliding barn doors. Copper accents—found in light fixtures, painted ductwork, art, and accessories—pay homage to classic cookware, while custom A.P.T. murals convert old recipes and utensils into modern graphic art. The main clubroom opens to a grand patio and pool, anchored by a fireplace set above an elongated stone hearth visible across the room. At the site's corner, the co-working space incorporates its own agrarian touch: a communal table supported by a clear acrylic base filled with layered, dried produce. A.P.T. furnished all amenity spaces, alongside two model homes, the pool area, two courtyards, and a rooftop deck.
