Situated close to the heart of historic Hillcrest, San Diego, Mode was determined to be its own animal. Far from following trends or fashions, it set out to define a new style that encompassed the bright and bold colors that one would automatically relate to Hillcrest, yet while having an eclectic vibe of its own. Upon receipt of the plans, A.P.T. set out to make this boutique project different.

We moved the clubroom to the roof deck for ocean views and lively vibes, while the courtyard became a calm retreat. The space features a split layout with a kitchen and secret game room, custom murals, an acrylic-sided pool, and unique design elements like a wooden lobby wall and backlit concrete mailroom.
